| In
addition to its direct services component, Home Remedies offers
a variety of
training and technical assistance services
for human service agencies. As a model program for
the Governor's Crime Commission, the Division of Youth Services,
and the Division of Social Services, Home
Remedies
has been instrumental in the development and statewide expansion
of Intensive Family Preservation Services in North Carolina.
From
1987 to 2000, Home Remedies provided a variety of support services
to newly funded and existing programs that included pre- and in-service
training, on-site and telephone consultation, and program evaluation.
Home Remedies currently provides mandated training for all state-funded
Family Preservation and Family Support program staff.
As
a member of the NC DSS Children's Services Statewide Training Partnership,
Home Remedies regularly conducts the following training workshops:
- Partners
in Change: A New Perspective on Child Protective Services
- Partners
in Change: An Introduction to Family Centered Practice
- Family-Centered
Practice in Family Preservation Programs
- Connecting
With Families: Family Support in Practice
Complete
descriptions of these and other Partnership offerings, training
