Mariella has a condition in which she sees things that are not really there; schizophrenia. Her family lives below North Carolina's poverty level and could not afford to get her medical attention. A neighbor stepped in and called the Department of Social Services to get Mariella the help she desperately needed. After she was brought to Barium Springs, she was able to see our Child Psychiatrist specialist who prescribed medication and is doing much better.
