Specialized Foster Care
Intensive Program

There are children age 12 and under whose sexual abuse history and exposure to violence is so extensive that they develop sexual behavior problems. Professional Parenting has designed its Intensive Program to meet the unique needs of these children. Clients in this program are placed with Professional Parent foster families specifically trained and supported to meet their special needs. Only one child is placed with each family, and both the child and his or her foster parents attend group sessions to provide a format for the successful care and treatment of these children.

Special features of the program include:

  • Specially selected and trained foster parents who are taught strategies for working with this population
  • Weekly group sessions, both for the children and the foster parents
  • Weekly in-home visits by professional staff
  • 24-hour-a-day crisis support
  • Specialized respite services
  • Substantial tax-exempt, monthly compensation for foster parents

To Refer a Child to the Program: We accept referrals of children age 12 and under who have a sexual touching problem who are in the custody of the department of social services. For more information about the referral process, e-mail tammy.deitz-hall@familyinnovations.org.
