Restoring Families

In Caldwell and Cleveland counties, Home Remedies administers Restoring Families, a reunification program. In Caldwell County, Restoring Families provides 12-14 weeks of services to families who have children that are returning from placement outside their homes. In Cleveland county, the program provides up to six months of services with the goal of reuniting parents and children who have been separated due to parental substance abuse.

Restoring Families is similar to IFPS in many respects. A specially trained worker, who is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, provides a mix of counseling and help with practical problems that is tailored to each family's unique situation. The worker carries a caseload of four families at a time and can thus spend 10+ hours a week working directly with family members.

To Make a Referral to this Program: Due to strict eligibility criteria, referrals can only be accepted from social services, substance abuse, mental health, and legal professionals.
